Knights in training

Date: 3rd May 2021 Author: Ashley Russell

Our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are really enjoying starting to see each other again and what better reason to get together than a fantastic activity day over the St George’s weekend.

The knight-themed sessions started with a gathering around a roaring fire (lit from the breath of our resident dragon!) to explore the story of St George, before rotating between three different activities. Our young people made a shield with a personal coat of arms, collected eggs while crawling and scrambling through an assault course and also took part in a grass-sledding (aka jousting) challenge.

One scout said: “I had such a great day. The assault course was really hard once you’d picked up some eggs, but my favorite thing was the jousting – someone was so accurate they even managed to put a hole through one of the eggs rather than just whack it!”.

Well done knights!
