Scouting via Zoom
Face-to-face meetings may be off the agenda at the moment but members of the 51st Bath Scouts group have kept in touch with each other via a regular online programme.
Meeting every fortnight, the Cubs and Beavers have taken part in a range of activities from map reading, a Festive Bake Off and a Christmas quiz.
The Scouts group is also meeting every two weeks on Zoom, with sessions exploring the history of scouting and the miracle of wind power. A cook-along competitive bake-off is coming up soon.
We’re obviously disappointed that we haven’t been able to meet up regularly for almost a year, but in October we were delighted to put on one face-to-face (and Covid-safe) event outdoors.
We headed over to the Bath District Scouts Cleeve Hill Campsite, where groups of socially distanced youngsters took part in fire-building and campfire activities.
We will continue to offer scouting remotely for as long as necessary because we think it’s important to stay connected and continue to learn skills for life. And when it’s safe to meet up in person again, you can be sure we’ll be prepared
